What are the health benefits of inversions?

  •  When you turn yourself upside down, ‘sediments’ that have collected in your lower limbs, mostly blood and lymph, will sink towards your head and revitalize body & mind.
  • Draining the lymphatic vessels periodically keeps them fit.
  • Inversions are essentially anti-gravity, anti-aging exercises that neutralize the detrimental effects of gravity on your body
  • Counteract anxiety & depression (mood ‘elevators’)
  • In some inversions, such as headstand & handstand, the muscles in your heart don't have to work as hard to pump blood to lower body (legs, toes, etc).  Inversions can be GOOD for your heart.
Inversions for beginners
  • Legs up the wall
  • Standing forward bend
  • Half shoulderstand
Inversions for intermediate practioners
  • Headstand can be attained by most people, requires strengthening abdominals and forearms, and can be learned in stages.  Headstand is contraindicated by high blood pressure & neck problems
  • Shoulderstand
  • Handstand
