She has two, 200-h teaching certifications for hatha yoga and has studied with a variety of instructors in the mind-body field of inquiry including Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, Jack Kornfield, and Rick Hanson. She is currently enrolled in a progressional yoga therapy program with Integrative Yoga Therapy, and plans to merge her love of science with the field of yoga therapy.
Since 2004, Carol has taught over 2,400 yoga and meditation classes to students ages 6 to 90 in medical centers, fitness centers, and in her own yoga studio. She is an avid writer, editor, and also delivers workshops on transition and change (see www.calibratingyourcompass.com). She is also on a mission to help people become healthier and delivers presentations on Surviving & Thriving at Your Desk, Stand Up for Your Health, and Stress Less.
Carol's yoga practice and teaching style combine elements of mindful hatha yoga with breathing exercises designed to activate and energize the subtle energy body. She has been strongly influenced by several yoga lineages including vinyasa flow (Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste), Jivamukti (Sharon Gannon, David Life), and Kundalini (Ana Brett and Ravi Singh). She strives to make yoga accessible to all people.
